Mechanical Pencils are popular for many reasons, one great one is that the lead is always sharp and thus you do not have to carry around or take the time to sharpen the lead! You simply click the advancer button on the top of the pencil to obtain new fresh lead.

Regardless of your rationale for selecting the Rhodia Mechanical Click Pencil, weather it is for technical drawing, sketching, writing, and capturing notes you will need to add lead at some point.

Adding Lead

Adding lead to your Retractable Mechanical Click Pencil is easy. Locate click button at the top of the pencil, and simply hold it firmly and slide it off as you pull away from the pencil. This will expose the eraser (which is also replaceable), and now simply pull the eraser and eraser holder (together) away from the pencil. This will expose the inside barrel that holds the lead. You can store 2 or 3 spare leads in the barrow. Be sure to use 0.5 mm lead for this pencil.

Rhodia Notebooks Brand Story

Rhodia was purchased in 1997 by the historic Clairefontaine company, located in the Vosges region of France. This was a match made in heaven. A paper-making legend itself, Clairefontaine was established in 1863 on the site of a 16th century paper mill and continues to this day. In fact, it's currently the only manufacturer making its own paper for its own products. This guarantees not only consistent product quality, but also controls the environmental impact of the manufacturing process. Clairefontaine only buys pulp from sustainable forests that are certified according to recognized international standards (PEFC, FSC). The river Meurthe is the source of water supply for the Vosges mill - the water is so clean when it leaves their facility that local people can swim within sight of it.
