Palomino Graphite Mixed Grade Pencils (8 ct.)

It all starts with Johann Eberhard Faber, a descendant of the famous Bavarian pencil manufacturing family, Faber. In the mid-1800's Johann established the first lead pencil factory in New York (called Eberhard Faber) and kept close ties and the same level of high quality pencils with the Faber pencil factories back in Germany. Over the years, the company was bought and sold several times, and the highly prized Blackwing pencil came and went. At the end of the 20th Century, Palomino, a division of California Cedar Products Company, picked up the Blackwing trademark. In 2010, Palomino CEO Charles Berolzheimer, a pencil maker with several generations in the business just like Eberhard Faber, used his unique supply relationships to re-introduce the Blackwing pencil, both in its original form (Blackwing 602) for devotees, writers and everyday users, as well as a modified version with a slightly softer lead for artists (Blackwing). Today, Palomino still produces a variety of high quality pencils and their perfect counterparts in Palomino's range of accessories, notebooks, and colored pencils.
