Description

This two-volume set explodes with creative inspiration. The first volume, Young Guns 6, is a compilation of the groundbreaking visual media and design chosen by Art Directors Club (ADC) through their annual design challenge. (Young Guns are winners of this yearly competition of professionals across all fields of media and design, 30 years old and under.)

The accompanying volume, The Undiscovered Letter, is filled with images that envision the 27th letter of the alphabet. The challenge was open only to past Young Guns - each participant was given their own Moleskine notebook in which to explore the concept of just what this new letter would be.

Over the years, the Young Guns have evolved into a community network of rebels and prodigies, unsung heroes and rising stars.

These books offer creative inspiration to anyone - the compilations are fun, provoking, artistic, and cutting-edge. They're a must-have for everyone who wants to keep in touch with the creative media world, from artists & graphic designers to advertising & marketing professionals - anyone impassioned by visual creativity (and Moleskines, of course).

Additional Info

ADC Young Guns is a global, cross-disciplinary portfolio competition that identifies today's vanguard of young creative professionals. It began in 1996 by the Art Directors Club (ADC), the premier organization for integrated media and the first international collective for creatives in advertising, design, interactive media and communications. As they say, the competition was established to honor young, taleneted, and visionary creatives for their work and potential to impact the future of visual media and design. The ADC Young Guns roster now counts six classes of exceptional talent. Past winners include designers Stefan Sagmeister and James Victore, AKQA's Co-Chief Creative Director Rei Inamoto, photographers floto+warner, and illustrators Deanne Cheuk and Alex Trochut, who all received the award in the early years of their now-thriving careers. Winners claim the iconic ADC Young Guns Cube and have their work exhibited at the ADC Gallery and published in this limited-edition book. For the second time, ADC looked to Moleskine to publish the hardcover, pocket-sized volume, which features groundbreaking work from the 50 winners of the ADC Young Guns 6 competition. Each winner chose three projects to be featured within the book's full-color pages.

The Undiscovered Letter, is a creative challenge developed to raise awareness about the non-profit literacy organization lettera27. The challenge was open exclusively to past ADC Young Guns, who were asked to conjure up the 27th letter of the alphabet. Participants were encouraged to do away with boundaries and interpret the concept freely. Every participant was given a Moleskine notebook to develop his or her ideas, and was asked to submit one final project. 27 finalists were selected, and the top-ranked project by Tiziana Haug (ADC Young Guns 5 winner) was named the 27th letter. Winning work was collected in a soft-cover, full-color pocket notebook.
